After being asked by multiple readers (aka Steve Brooks) what the deal with my blog is, I figured I would fill everybody in on what has been going on. My last post, was in December, right before Christmas, and unfortunately with the heavy load of school work, I have not found the time to continue posting. However, I know make a dedication to continue to make sure I make posts more often. I have updated the page, and be ready for some great times! The last three months have been full of grand adventures, as well as great shows, and will be collectively recapped in the Reviews page...Thanks for continuing to read and I hope that my neglectfulness over the past three months did not bring any unhappy days into your life!

As the Holiday's grow near, most people are busy out shopping, wrapping gifts, spending time with family and thinking about New Years plans. Nothing in this mangled mind is any different. As I wander down mall corridors and try to maneuver around the ridiculous parking lot traffic in shopping centers there is only one thing keeping my head level and calm.....PHISH... After months of uncertainty of whether or not the boys would even be playing the NYE shows in Miami, it was made official. Then, after months of uncertainty on whether or not I would be able to find a ride from Fairfax, VA it became certain....PHISH and SOUND TRIBE are in the books as the next run of shows I will make. All 4 nights of Phish, followed by what looks to be a Jan 2nd STS9 show in Ft. Lauderdale, looks to make my NYE one to remember. Despite low funds, and confusing plans as of now, you all can look forward to enjoying whatever I come back with, it will be a trip to remember. After the trip, plans for a small FLA fest in January, as well a possible trip to the ATL for some Umphreys Mcgee, as well as another P Groove siting will be in the works mostly based on available funds, but somehow I always manage to make it to the places I want to be!...Now, the only steps that need to be taken are making it all happen after the New Years. To all have a great Holiday season, and I hope your new years plans work out as well as mine! and any PHISH goers to Miami that would like to join what looks to be a fun crowd, feel free to contact me! Bear Creek and Upcoming Show Plans!!!!!!!!

So after a long couple months of the typical scattering of shows on weekends and on nights I can pull blowing off class the next morning, the time arrived when the Subaru gets loaded up and the rubber hits the interstate in order to spend another weekend camping out with some great people, bands, and all around great times. Bear Creek , kicks off in Live Oak, FL on Thursday Nov. 12 and winds down late sunday night/monday morning. Expect to hear of typical times spent day in day out bonding w/ friends both well known and encountered accidentally when getting blasted by pot-o-potty goo...but with good times comes great responsibility. The vast lineup only will hopefully allow for addition of some great footage as well as great news to spread, so look forward to that.

Shortly after Bear Creek....we have a possible repeat Perpetual Groove run through Southern Florida...With nights planned for Jacksonville, St. Petersburg, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orlando, FL. However Orlando seems most likely out of the picture due to a final that evening. We'll see what can be arranged.

In addition, I am heading back to Northern VA over both Thanksgiving and XMas breaks. Gotta do a bit of the family thing, but that gives me a chance to get a nice run of shows in a different spot. As of now, Nov. 25th presents a Matisyahu show @ the historical synagogue on 6th & I and the 28th presents something I am exceptionally excited for...NOVA local and Richmond artist PJ the Viking will be bringing it down at Jammin Java for what I am hoping is a great reunion w/ some old friends.

All and all the Months leading up to Christmas look good so far, however NYE experience is upon us. Me? I am most likely heading to Miami for a nice Phish run w/ a possible STS9 closer @ the JamCruise pre-launch party in Ft. Lauderdale on 1/2. Keep comin back and check the reviews page for what looks to be a good few months!

October Restlessness Brings Winter Expectations

I am starting to regret my timing on creating this site...I am happy with the progress I am making, but starting this at the end of the busiest show season, its hard to keep up with everything else going on. School is a success thankfully, but I have not stopped attending shows and what not...Currently a few things are on my mind....UPCOMING SHOWS....theres a few to mention that are garuntees at this point...soonest, would be NOV. 3...we'll be takin it back to the Cro' for a nice time with PRETTY LIGHTS w/ ALEX B (PNUMA). Should Be a great time, so if your in the Tampa area, take the party to Ybor for what will be a great time for even a non-fan. On top of that, we've got what could be one of the biggest dance party's of the year goin down at Bear Creek!!! So, that all being said, its not all bad during the school year....

So I am up late tonight, and I came across an article posted on Fox News' site . Don't go running. Typically Fox is known for its stronger right wing biased reporting however I feel they didn't go to far in their report of Barack Obama's off-the-record remarks on Monday about Kanye West's remarks on the MTV VMA's on Sunday night. Now typically anything on MTV is something I know nothing about, but I did hear about the remarks from other blog feeds and remarks from friends through the course of the day. However this article stood out to me. As far as I am concerned GET EM' BARACK. Fox news is probably trying to bring bad press due to Barack's remarks but in this day in age lets be serious, jackass is everyday language. You're right Barack, Kanye West is an arrogant fool and brings shame to the Rap/Hip-Hop community. I do respect him for attempting to apologize, but there is no reason for him disrespect a young 19 year old girl. Not to mention, who puts that much respect into the VMA's? Kanye has made negative comments about MTV since 2007, so why is he even worried anymore? Either way he is an ass and should just stop making appearances publicly. It would make me happy thats for sure. To any Taylor Swift fans, never listened...Probably Never will, but nobody deserves that kind of disrespect.

After a week of polling, and 7 entire votes...Bonnaroo has been rated the best festival lineup from the summer of 2009! Hopefully they will be able to keep up the good work and put another great festival together in 2010...who knows, maybe us Floridians will be able to take part in a Langerado 2010 this up coming spring? Rumor mills say that it will be going on the weekend of March 4-7...we can only hope.....Phish rumor mills say they have announced their winter line-up...possible4 night NYE run in Miami? that would be cool, but I still feel they should ring in the new decade at Big Cypress and bring another 100,000 hipsters to the everglades!!! Bear Creek coming up fast and a serious lack of live music in my brain, so it is necessary! Also, check for my writing at the USF entertainment blog site!!! the Oracle will be allowing me to post reviews of shows and what not for them too!!!! Movin on up!

For those of you who are attending Bear Creek get your tickets now...tickets are currently still at their "early" price structure, so you will be playing 125 plus fees and what not...on Oct. 1st, they will jump to 140 plus fees so get them now if you plan on going....you can always sell them before hand if something happens! Unfortunately, the last month has been full of nothing but classes, moving, and getting important things done. This being said, I have been unable to attend as many shows as I would like to... I have to apologize especially for last minute changes in this weekends plans. Orignally I had planned on attending both a SOJA show, as well as an Authority Zero show, but my brother seems to be getting sent back overseas due to the US Military...greaaat. So i will be looking for a show or two in Charleston while I am there, but due to lack of resources, and lack of time, I do not know what the chances are...I apologize but keep coming back!!! I plan on adding a tour page so that people can keep up with tour dates in different places!!!! Thanks for coming and Keep coming back!

After an interesting time in VA, my two Dave shows of the summer and done and gone. See you next time Dave. Although I expected the Bristow, VA show to be much better, he held it down in Tampa as he played a good number of songs that were not directly from the new album. A great few days, and it leads me into the beginning of the school year. Check out the review of the Bristow show here, Tampa review will be a short one, but I'll be posting it shortly.

Tool and their overpriced tickets gives me a new viewpoint as a concert goer.....I guess not every band treats their fans to a great time every night! As of 10:30 pm last night, my blog surpassed 100 hits. Now taking into consideration, I have only had a hit counter for about half the time I have been working on this, who knows what the real number of hits is, but I would like to say thank you for everyone coming to my site! In the last 4 or so days, I have noticed a substantial jump in daily activity, so keep it coming! Plans you ask? Phish Festival

As many of you know, Phish has recently announced a festival set to take place halloween weekend 2009. Known as Save "save the date" up to this point most thought the festival would take place in California however, now, just as the other states have been dropping off in their own unique ways, Cali has been hauled away by hot air balloons!!! Personally I believe it will be taking place on a farm outside of Austin, TX however many speculate New Mexico, Louisiana, and Florida as all possible locations! I will continue to keep posts coming letting you know what is announced!

I know that Moe and Bob Wier & Ratdog will be playing in the outdoor park, but have hear that Perpetual Groove will be playing in the heaven bar and lounge area. The Purgatory Bar area will be having a free Drum & Bass night aswell!!! Should be a great Crowd!

Summer Time, and The Livins Easy.

It's about half way through summer, and so far everything has been great. Got into USF with the help from an old professor that I hadn't seen in almost 2 years, thank god. Just means I am back on track to get my degree in English. Looking for a different job right now has been rough as well. I am hoping to find something with more flexibility so that I can continue to make last minute decisions about things that I am going to do. One of these last minute decisions ended up being the highlight of the summer, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 2009. This was my second trip to the festival, and this experience matched the previous! My tendency to make these last minute decisions about whether or not I am going to do something is something that I will not be able to continue later in life, or at least thats what I feel my mind has been programmed to think. However, I cannot seem to bring myself to plan ahead more simply because the feeling of a good time is that much better, especially when you weren't expecting to be where you end up in advance! These decisions continue with a trip to Atlanta in the making, and hopefully a successful Dave run in VA.

It seems all these things all include my one true love. Live music. Something about the feeling of just letting yourself loose around friends and complete strangers just fascinates me. Take a person to a great concert, and they can become a whole different person. At many of the shows I go to however, I do seem to see occasional fights, or robbies or things like that. It just make me think...why is it that some people can ruin some of life's best times! Is it almost a type of human nature for some people to just be bad? I've always grown up looking for the good of people, but as I get older, i begin to realize how many bad people there are in the world, who seem to not be worried about it at all! Does it not spark any emotion in a person as the break in car windows in order to take everything of value and leaving to owner hopeless to a point of tears! I just don't get it. The good times a great vibes however always outweigh the bad ones, and all a person can do is try to keep true to you! Its a great day today, and I've decided to start a blog. Not quite sure how well its going to go yet, but I'm gonna give it a shot. So WELCOME! and thanks for reading. Whether you are a close friend or family member or someone who lives in a distant land that I have not met yet!!! Currently I have some decent plans for this blog. My hopes are that I will be able to give some of my own insight on some of the little things that occur in my travels and experiences. I will go into detail on shows i go to, events i attend and things of that nature, so that others who are possibly looking to do some of the same things have some insight!!! Ill try to be as honest as possible and tell about all the pros and cons of the subjects that I am speaking about!
